Head in the Game
‘Head in the Game’ is a short film inspired by the struggles of Mental Health in football players, and the need for young people and adults alike to realise they are not alone.
The film focuses on a young academy player who on the surface is happy at training but when he leaves the pitch his personal struggles come to the fore. It was filmed, directed and edited by myself.
This film links to the self-help platform ‘Head in the Game’ which features a model created in Unreal Engine, embedded in a 360 platform. The 3D brain can be turned around and each of the brain nodes feature a video showing the struggles of players and former players with various problems such as addiction, abuse, depression racism and feelings of low self-esteem. It is designed to direct people to charities and other groups to help with mental health related issues.
